I am very glad I decided only to ride down to the coast, if you look at the profile 🙂
Starting from Ainslie at 8am to try and get down the Clyde before the main stream of holiday traffic out of Canberra. Heading out to Mac Reef Rd to avoid the Airport, it seemed to take a little longer than I thought to get to Braidwood, wasn’t sure at that stage if I would make the 30km average I was hoping for.
Luckily there wasn’t too much climbing and the head wind was buffered enough by the range that is really just helped me once I turned up from Batemans Bay.
Every kilometre started to get slower and slower even though my average went up again (thanks to the low undulation and a tail wind), I was super happy to get to Ulladulla and call it a day.
Except for that 18% hill to get to the house we were staying at….ouch!
201km at 30km/h average for 6:40hrs and 8 hours in total including stop times, arriving at the house around 4pm… a long day and only a few “world famous” pies and sugar drinks 🙂
