3Fidi had two teams in the 14th Feb AROC race, (Bleeksie, James, Libby) (Craig, DJ, Wayne) both with a ring-in but close enough to call them 3Fidi teams (DJ being a visiting member and has his own 3Fidi kit given to him by Tom & Al).

The event ran from Lake Ginninderra HQ, from where we were bussed out to the back of Lyneham, for a rogaine start then bike, run, water-slide our way through the North West of Canberra for 3 – 4 hours until we ended up at HQ again.

Kayaking was cancelled due to the Blue-Green algea, which Tom & Al were very happy about as it made logistics much easier before suring and after the event 🙂

We saw Craig’s team a few times during the event first as we passed them then a couple of times as they were close on our heels at transitions.

I did most of the navigating during the rogaines and surprised myself how well I marked the check-points.

Our team, 3Fidi, finished 9th Overall and 5th in the Mixed category in 3:38. Missing out at one placing due to my calfs cramping during a head-to-head battle in the last 2 kms with another Mixed team.

Craig’s team, 3Fidi2, finished 16th Overall and 6th in the Male category in a time of 3:52.
