What a cracker of a day was had at the 2012 Capital Punishment race. There were about 800 riders finishing in each of the 50km and 100km events.
3FIDI had a single rider in the 50km, Doggi, and five riders in the 100km, Bleeksie, Ash, James, Ron and Libby.
I think every one of us started in a different wave, which meant we were all flying solo and not much team work along the way 🙂
The 100km event started in East Kowen and headed into Sparrow for a 6km loop before going back into Kowen, across defense land into Majura , where the 50km joined the same course from then on.
After the Majura tracks we popped out over the horse gate and in to an un-timed section. We had 45 minutes to get to the second part of the race, that started at Black mountain and took us to Stromlo via the cork plantation and the arboretum.
In Stromlo we rode, pretty well the red lap, up to the top and down Sky-line and the berms to the finish.
