… in the Tonelli Cup Handicap. The race is run on the Old Federal Highway for 43km with a handicap start (by grades).
There were 3x 3fidies in B-grade (Alwyn, Michael Carr, Greg) and 2x in A-grade (Bleeksie, Peter Walbrink). A-grade started from scratch about 1:30 minutes behind B-grade and about 27 minutes behind G-grade.
The B-grade bunch was very large and the small A-grade group really only had 4 or so workers out of about 8. B-grade picked up the last front runner minutes before the line, where Greg ‘burgled’ the finish 🙂
The A-grade bunch had a lot of hangers-onners and by the last lap to Lake George it was time to shed some bodies. Bleeksie attacked just before the Lake George final turn, hanging back a fraction hoping for another body to jump across but nobody did.
After a huge solo run trying to catch the last 8x B-graders, Bleeksie only missed out by about 400m at the finish.
Results:
1st overall and cup winner – Greg Burglarhardt
9th overall and fastest time – Bleeksie
Greg wins Tonelli Cup

If Greg’s in B grade, sign me up for D!
Thanks to the handicappers.
