BC Bike Race Report 2014

Racing under the colours of the “Low Flying Kowalskis” fellow trail builder Alan Vogt and myself recently returned from a successful stint on the 7day stage race from Vancouver to Whistler incorporating some of the worlds best single track.

It really is a must do for those who love their mtbing, not just for the riding but for the whole package. These guys really know how to put on a race and all the logistics concerned with it and have the experience to ensure all have the time of their lives.

We managed to podium on 6 of the 7 stages and came home in 2nd place overall in the Veterans 80+ category – something we never envisaged when starting out. But we came home with much more – memories of awesome trails, new friendships and a greater respect for those who put so much more back into the community in their own way.

For those who didn’t read my travel blog I’ll post an epic below – if you have a spare 15 minutes to read it :).

Otherwise visit the race site at www.bcbikerace.com to view features of the race – We managed to get on video Day 4, be it just a podium shot.
