After having a seniors moment in the holidays and driving into the garage, be it very slowly, a decision was made to update my road frame of 6yrs.

Not releasing I was at the front of the bike queue after purchasing a second-hand mtb for Stacie I was told that I could buy a frame for the equivalent price and swap over my running gear.
Luckily I had insured all of our bikes separately – See Rule #25 and within a week AAMI had paid out a very handsome sum and I was able to not only purchase a special edition 3fidi edition S Works Tarmac SL4 frameset but had money leftover for a new wheel set, Dura Ace C35, new shoes and spending money for Mothers Day.
So I have now provided you all with a light bulb moment but make sure the insurance claims are staggered over the next few years 🙂

Good to hear it all turned out well in the end. Sounds like you are now are now riding on the road more than once a fortnight ( and I hear you’re turning into a secret Strava chaser…mutter, mutter…)
I know – hard to believe that I have a competitive streak in me -that’s why I held off so long from joining – can’t help myself, but it’s fun chasing down the QOM’s – KOM’s are out of my reach.
Better start riding the 29er more though as BC is creeping up on me – will have to go out to the trail park at Stromlo and practice riding those see-saws again.
Need to get a hacksaw to trim that steerer!
Yes, need to get a new head stem too, but will wait a week or two to make sure set up is right before commitment 🙂
