As Greg, from TWE, mentioned that my new SRL30 wheels were virtually indestructible, I recently started to liven up my roadie riding by jumping curbs, gutters, speed humps and other road furniture to have fun and see how the wheels would hold up, sometimes even giving the rear end a bit of a BMX flick, to the amusement of fellow riders (or was that disbelief)

Well, I probably shouldn’t have taking this extreme sports approach, as now my bike rides a bit funny… the wheels are GREAT, it’s my bottom bracket that probably couldn’t handle the constant abuse of the jumping as well as the usual Bleeksie-Train, as now the bottom bracket is creaking like a rusty door hinge, again to the amusement of my fellow riders, although the annoying creak is starting to wear thin with them.

I will have to try some “anti-creak” grease, before I even consider a new crankset, as they seem very pricey, compared with the overall cost of my bike. 🙂
