To cut a short story shorter, my public feud with James was that were was not a huge difference to my performance on a front slick tire compared to a sticky one. I have learnt to ride on the slick tire.  Ashley rides fast on his SB8s so I reasoned I would acquire those skills and do same, so I would not need sticky tires. James disagreed, Strenuously, avoiding me at coffee for weeks. 🙂

I was wrong.  Sticky tire today for 54km at Spowen-  that sticky tire did manoeuvres that the SB8 would never do.  Race pace is where the difference appears…I was just not riding fast enough.
