There could only be one winner in today’s CORC XC at Stromlo – the 10th and final race in the series – and that was me, deftly securing that most coveted of race numbers with some slick handling skills, sustained pedal power and a mutter or two… These are for keeps btw. Rusty and I rode Masters, with Rusty finishing just out of sight; James trundled around on his SS, muttering furiously when he arrived about rubbing wheels, slipping skewers and excessively flat courses. Some people are never pleased…
Shame that number was same place you finished overall as well – still good to have an elder stateman of the clan with an appropriate number.
